Rejects

Yesterday I posted about the plants I bought, but there was plenty of interest besides those, from my point of view anyway. There were some I already have –100_4194

Much more that may have been bought had they been found at the local garden centre, but not when buying all the other stuff. 100_4198100_4199100_4200100_4203

Finally, one that I liked and hadn’t previously heard of, which is always nice. Olearia virgata has an airy habit and grey-green colouring. It would suit a well-drained, sunny position. Too large for my raised beds given the stuff i’ve already put in there, but still appealing.100_4192100_4193
So, what do you think? Would you have chosen differently? Be honest!

There are certainly many fine things there, but your purchases show that you’re in it for the long haul, and that’s an admirable trait in a gardener!

Buying trees when they are still so small feels like a leap of faith, and what’s more i’ll have to not overplant around them, which is an act of patience in itself, but on the other hand, it’s ambitious too and that’s a kind of instant reward.
