The Great Garden Move, Part One

A crowd of helpers descended on Wilmslow today to help get those garden plants i’d potted up over to the new garden. By way of explanation, the old house was bought by my brother on the proviso that he could hold off changing the garden until i’d moved what I wanted to keep. Massive pots have proved expensive, so I haven’t been able to pot everything up yet. There are two more Tetrapanax to dig up. The Pinus montezumae I will try to move, although it is such a size now that i’m not convinced it will survive having most of its roots torn off. There are multitudinous bananas to dig out, and I haven’t touched the covered desert bed yet.

Today though, and what was achieved. Here’s the first trailer load once it was put in one corner of the new place-

Here’s the second trailer load packed up and ready to go-

Nothing was seriously damaged, miraculously! Although my sister-in-law suffered from trying to pick up a Puya before i’d warned her of it. Ouch.

    1. I know, there’s loads still in the ground. I have a montezuma pine which I will try to move, as the nursery I bought it from would charge £400 for a replacement. I doubt that it will survive the upheaval, but i’m going to give it a go
